Dominica is a small island in the Leeward Antilles island chain in the Caribbean. It is located between the islands of Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south and it is closer to South America than to North America.
I'm living there for about a year and a half while I complete my first two years of medical school at Ross University. Most of the island hasn't changed much in the last few hundred years, which is nice because it leaves most of the natural beauty unspoilt, but unfortunate because the island lacks the infrastructure to allow me to visit most of it in the very limited time I've had while living here. A 10 mile drive directly across the island takes at least an hour.
The photos I have here will give you a fair idea of what the island is all about. Aside from the nice hikes there is plenty of excellent diving to be done. I don't have photos of that because I never got around to bringing an underwater camera. So it goes.
