Morgan Hill State Forest is a large wooded area in southern Onondaga County. It's one of the largest continous forests in the area and a favorite place of mine. It has everything you'd want in a forest: good trails, beautiful views, a couple of ponds. The forest sees a fair amount of activity in the summer mainly in the form of campers and fishermen near the ponds. Hunting season brings another spike in activity. Otherwise it's pretty quiet.
Since I have so many photos of this particular forest I'm going to begin organizing them. The first mini-gallery comes from a walk I took in August 2012. I wasn't in town very long and needed to visit a place that I knew would make me happy. I took the long loop around the forest and it delivered!
